Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Stay home with a fever or a cough and tell your teacher. A lesson missed for illness is moved to another time in the month when we can, and your weekly time stays yours.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for Thanksgiving week, the last week of December and a spring break week. Closures are listed on the schedule, and we email families about a weather closure before lessons start.
Drop-off and pickup
Students under eighteen leave with the adult named on their file, unless the file says a teen may leave on their own. Parents may wait in the lobby, which has seats and a window into the hall.
Late pickup
Please collect your student within fifteen minutes of the end of a lesson or class. A teacher stays until every student has left, and a call to the desk helps us plan.
Watching class and recitals
A parent can sit in on a first class, and during the term the lesson room doors have windows or stay open. Families are welcome at showcases and at the end-of-week play-throughs in summer. Phones go down while students play.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or the cubby during a lesson, except for a metronome or a chart your teacher asks for.
What to wear and bring
Wear what you would play in, with closed shoes you can press a pedal in. Bring your own sticks if you have them. We have pads and sticks for a first class.
